Set in Mississippi during the 1960s, Skeeter (Emma Stone) is a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends’ lives — and a small Mississippi town — upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families. Aibileen (Viola Davis), Skeeter’s best friend’s housekeeper, is the first to open up — to the dismay of her friends in the tight-knit black community. Despite Skeeter’s life-long friendships hanging in the balance, she and Aibileen continue their collaboration and soon more women come forward to tell their stories — and as it turns out, they have a lot to say. Along the way, unlikely friendships are forged and a new sisterhood emerges, but not before everyone in town has a thing or two to say themselves when they become unwittingly — and unwillingly — caught up in the changing times.
Pizza, popcorn and optional hands busy activity provided.

Our TAB volunteers have been hard at work all year long. So, on Monday, June 11, at 6pm we will host a “Thank You” event for the Board.
This group of hard working young women have planned all of the teen events this year and for the summer, they’ve hosted some of the events themselves, decorated our YA area for big events, assembled book displays and offered free gift wrapping as a service to the public this Christmas. Now they are looking forward to a well deserved summer break, but first we’d like give them a big “Thank You” and a small gift!
If you are a board member and have attended at least 6 meetings over the school year, please join us for this special night!
