No registration is required. Held in the John Clarke Children’s Program Room.

Stories, rhymes, songs plus simple crafts and science experiments celebrating the Summer Reading theme: “Fizz, Boom, Read!”

The Science of Art: Collage

No registration is required.  Held in the John Clarke Children’s Program Room.

Hear stories and make an original piece of art inspired by the collage work of picture book artists Eric Carle and Lois Ehlert.

The Science of Baseball with the Newport Gulls

Get Cooking with Chemistry!

Get Cooking with ChemistryTuesday, July 22nd @ 2:30pm

Ages 7-9 years old

Registration is required.  Held in the John Clarke Children’s Program Room.

The chemistry of cooking with Dr. Susan Meschwitz of Salve Regina University!  Experiment with mystery powder and yeast.  Enjoy an ice cream demonstration with liquid nitrogen.

Summer Reading Outdoor Fair

SRP 14 Outdoor FairWednesday, August 13th, 10:30am – 1:00pm

Open to all children and families

No registration is required. Held in Aquidneck Park adjacent to the library. NOTE: In the event of rain the Outdoor Fair will continue as scheduled in the library building.

Highlights:

  • Certificates and prizes for summer readers who completed the program
  • Food, activities and fun!
  • Laura Matta – polynesian dance @ 11:00am
  • Puppet Workshop with Sue Klau @ 12:00pm
