Books and Authors Series – March is Mystery Month

March is Mystery Month

Come see authors who write mystery thrillers or nonfiction about mysterious people.

Sat., March 28th – Hallie Ephron, author of Night, Night, Sleep Tight.

Hallie Ephron’s visit is also part of Newport Public Library’s Rhode Island Library Day celebration.  Check our event calendar for details on this special day celebrating all that libraries do for our community.

 

 

Library Page position open

Library pageNPL is accepting applications for a part-time library page.

A reliable person is needed for a part-time page position.  Duties include re-shelving library materials, pulling holds lists and helping to maintain the general appearance and neatness of library materials.

Send a letter of application to djames@newportlibraryri.org or request an application form at Newport Public Library, 300 Spring Street, Newport, RI  02840.

 

Application deadline is March 31st, 2015.

Check out the 3M Cloud Library- a free source of eBooks.  The Cloud Library is only for those with a Newport Public Library card.

Also check out the Overdrive eZone (which also offers audiobooks and streaming video) for anyone with a card from a Rhode Island public library.

The Children’s Department is happy to welcome a new Early Literacy Station to the library!  Come visit and check it out!

LEGO creations must stay in the library, so bring a camera!  Please leave your own LEGOs at home.
