Books and Authors Series

feiferOur popular Books and Authors Series continues with a great line-up of authors and presenters coming to the Newport Library.

October 18th at 2:00 p.m. – Gregory Feifer (picured on left), author of Russians: The People Behind the Power. Feifer is a former Moscow correspondent for National Public Radio who has written for the New Republic, Washington Post, and World Policy Journal. The New York Times said his book Russians “give[s] the lay reader a spirited introduction to this complex country and its torturous past.” Mr. Feifer will have copies of his book available for purchase and signing.

November 1st at 2:00 p.m. – Dr. Dennis Rosen, author of Vital Conversations: Improving Communications Between Doctors and Patients.

Children ages 6-12 – come to the library’s Halloween Party, Saturday, October 25th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Dress up in a costume
  • Make spooky crafts
  • Have some snacks!

Registration is required and opens on Tuesday, October 7th.  Registrations will be accepted at the Children’s Desk or over the phone (401-847-8720 ext. 204).
