Members of the Friends of the Newport Public Library believe that a vibrant public library enhances community life. The Friends promote and support the Library and its activities by encouraging community involvement, providing financial support, advocating for the Library in the larger community, and performing other services of use to the Library.

How to Donate to the Bookstore
The Friends’ bookstore welcomes donations of gently used books, textbooks, CDs, magazines and VHS tapes. Small donations (1-2 bags or 1 box) may be left at the Friends’ Bookstore. Large donations (2 or more boxes) may be delivered to the loading dock on the south side of the building from 10 AM to 4 PM. Ring the bell for assistance or if you need a tax deductible donation slip. Thank you for supporting the Library!
Interested in Volunteering?
The Friends are looking for volunteers to help staff the bookstore, sort and price books, help at special book sales and to work at other Library fundraising events. We could also use volunteers with computer skills. For more information about current volunteer opportunities, please email us at email@example.com.
