THE PROGRAM |

|
How to Participate in the Carnival of Creativity:
1) Register for the Summer Reading Program at the Newport Public Library, by phone or online and receive your map of the carnival
2) Read a minimum of 6 books and report the titles of the books in a reading log
3) Complete at least 1 activity in 2 different areas of the carnival (see map)

Who Can Get Creative and Join the Carnival?
Preschool children to children entering 6th grade in the Fall. Pre-schoolers can complete the program by having someone read aloud to them and record in their log for them. |
When Will the Carnival be in Town?
The Carnival of Creativity Summer Program will be at the Newport Public Library between June 30th and August 13th. |
Children Who Complete all of the Requirements Receive:
1) A personalized certificate
2) A toy prize
3) A free book
4) Up to 6 discount coupons good at local and state attractions (1 for each book read) |
Children are also eligible to win grand prizes awarded by random drawing.

THE SHORT PROGRAM |
Going on vacation?
Enrolled in an all-day summer program?
Having summer visitors for a short time?

In addition to the regular 7-week program, the Newport Public Library also offers a
Short-Term Program that is fast and easy to complete!
|
Children completing the Short-Term Program need to:
1) Read at least 2 books and record them in their reading log
2) Complete at least 1 activity in 1 area of the carnival (see map)
3) Complete a library activity page |
Children Who Complete the Short-Term Program Receive:
1) A personalized certificate
2) 2 discount coupons good at local and state attractions (1 for each book read)
3) A toy prize |
Children completing the Short-Term Program are not eligible to win grand prizes
and do not receive a free book.
